Which one actually makes you look richer?

Let’s be honest – most of us grew up seeing diamonds set in gold. It’s everywhere. Your mum’s jewellery box, wedding sets, family pieces passed down generations. There’s something comforting about it.

Why people still love it

First, it just works for Indian wear. Saree, lehenga, even a simple kurta—gold blends in without trying too hard. It complements Indian skin tones beautifully too.

Then there’s variety. You’re not stuck with one look:

Yellow gold if you love that rich, traditional feel

White gold if you want something subtle (almost like platinum, but cheaper)

Rose gold if you’re into softer, more romantic tones

Also, let’s talk money. Gold—especially 14K or 18K—is usually easier on the pocket compared to platinum. So if you’re trying to balance budget with design, it gives you more flexibility.

And one big plus in India? Every jeweller knows gold inside out. Resizing, redesigning, even melting and remaking—it’s all pretty straightforward.

But yeah, it’s not perfect

Gold is softer, so it can get scratched over time—especially if you wear your ring daily.

White gold, while pretty, needs a bit of upkeep. That shiny white finish? It fades and needs re-polishing every few years.

And if you’re someone who likes that super premium, rare-metal feel… gold doesn’t quite give that “exclusive” vibe anymore.
