Berlin Brandenburg airport faced a complete shutdown Wednesday as a planned labour strike led to flight cancellations and disrupted plans for more than 50,000 travellers. No regular passenger services operated Wednesday after the union Verdi called on airport employees to stage a warning strike as it seeks higher wages. “We consider a warning strike to be disproportionate – especially due to the Iran war,” said Aletta von Massenbach, chair of the airport operator’s management board. However, she expressed confidence an agreement could be reached in the next round of talks on March 25. (This is a Bloomberg story)
