Prayagraj: Two unidentified bike-borne assailants shot at a former gram pradhan near his house at Alamchand village under the limits of Sandipanghat police station of Kaushambi on Monday.The incident took place when Manoj Kumar (50) had gone for a morning walk.Upon being alerted, senior police officials, including Kaushambi SP and forensic experts, rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. The critically injured ex-gram pradhan was admitted to SRN hospital in Prayagraj.A senior officer said the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. Three police teams have been formed to crack the case. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the assailants and acting on some leads.Kumar was pradhan of Alamchand village from 2010 to 2015. Police are probing all angles, including old political rivalry, if any. An FIR under relevant sections has been lodged.
