Hazaribag: Six members of a family, who were killed in an accident near Jodrahi bridge on the Danua Valley stretch in the district on Saturday night, were going to attend a wedding function at Amas in Bihar’s Gaya district, police said on Sunday.The deceased have been identified as Shiv Kumar Bhuiyan, 42, a lineman helper at BCCL’s Benidih colliery in Phularitand, his wife, Ruby Kumari, 38, their daughters, Soni Kumari, 12, and Suhani Kumari, 8, and Shiv’s 60-year-old father-in-law, Kriti Bhuiyan. The sixth victim was identified as Prem Kumar, 7, Ruby’s nephew. All were residents of Budora Colony in Dhanbad.Chauparan police station officer in-charge Saroj Singh said the car in which they were travelling rammed into a trailer, and a speeding truck then crashed into the car from behind, trapping the four-wheeler in between the two heavy vehicles. Drivers of both the trucks fled from the spot after the accident.“The impact of the collision left the car completely mangled, thus making identification of victims a challenge,” a police officer said.Chauparan police, after reaching the site, contacted their Dhanbad counterparts with the car’s registration details, which helped in identifying the victims. Locals and an NHAI team helped in retrieving the bodies, police said.Barhi SDO Johan Tudu said post-mortem examination was conducted at a local hospital.
