Hyundai Venue BNCAP crash test results out: Here’s how it performed

The Hyundai Venue, along with the sportier Venue N Line, has undergone crash testing under the Bharat NCAP program, and the results are now out. The compact SUV has delivered a strong performance in both adult and child occupant protection, making it one of the safer options in its segment.

Hyundai Venue crash tested under BNCAP: How it fared

In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, the Venue secured 31.15 out of a maximum 32 points. For Child Occupant Protection (COP), it scored 44.46 out of 49 points. These scores apply across all variants of the model sold in India.Looking at the detailed test results, the SUV performed well in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. It offered good protection to the head and neck of both the driver and front passenger. Protection for the lower body was also rated good, while shin protection was marked as adequate. The driver’s chest received an adequate rating, whereas the passenger’s chest protection was rated as good.

In side impact scenarios, including the movable deformable barrier and pole impact tests, the Venue offered good protection to occupants. Child safety performance was equally impressive. The SUV scored 23.46 out of 24 in dynamic testing using child restraint systems and achieved a full 12 out of 12 in CRS installation. It also received 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment category.The test models included the HX2 (Diesel MT) and HX10 (Diesel AT) variants. In terms of safety equipment, the Venue comes equipped with six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, seatbelt pretensioners and ISOFIX mounts, among other features.
