A leave request letter has gone viral on social media. This leave letter is not from a bank employee but a Sub-district magistrate (SDM). In Ballia, the SDM requested eight days leave from the District Magistrate after being bitten by a dog.
The letter stated, “The dog bit me on both hands, leaving deep wounds. I received treatment from a local doctor, but the bleeding persists.” I am unable to do any of my work. The doctors have advised me to see a specialist doctor. Therefore, I should be granted leave from March 6th to March 13th.
The case is from Bairia tehsil. SDM Alok Pratap Singh wrote to the District Magistrate on March 5th, requesting leave. He used his thumb impression instead of his signature on the letter. Alok Pratap Singh is a 2023 batch PCS officer.
Alok Pratap Singh took charge as Deputy Collector in Ballia on February 12, 2024. In January 2026, a home guard accused him of mistreating and making him do household chores. Furthermore, a former MLA questioned the involvement of brokers in the tehsil.
Meanwhile, DM Mangala Prasad Singh said, “The leave application has been submitted. The SDM was bitten by a dog on his hand. He is unable to write because of a plaster cast on his hand.”
The incident has created a stir on social media and the letter is going viral on social media.
