Madhubani: With Eid expected to be celebrated on Friday or Saturday, the district administration has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festival while maintaining strict law and order.In a joint statement, district magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma and superintendent of police (SP) Yogendra Kumar said that 864 magistrates and police officers, supported by sufficient police personnel, have been deployed at 432 sensitive and important locations across the district. All officers have been directed to report to their assigned duty points on time and submit group photographs via WhatsApp for verification.The statement added that senior officials, including BDOs, COs and SHOs, have been instructed to conduct frequent patrols, maintain close coordination, and keep a vigilant watch over sensitive areas. Plainclothes police personnel will monitor potential troublemakers, with strict instructions to take immediate legal action against antisocial elements attempting to disturb peace, indulge in lawlessness or spread rumours and fake news.The district cyber cell, in coordination with the district public relations office’s social media team, will monitor online platforms round-the-clock to curb provocative or misleading content.A district control room will operate 24×7 from March 20 until the conclusion of the festival, functioning in three shifts under the supervision of the additional collector. Emergency resources, including riot control forces, armoured vehicles (Vajra Vahini), fire tenders and other units, have been kept on standby.“Fire officers have been directed to keep firefighting teams ready to respond to any emergency. Senior officers will remain accountable for real-time monitoring and direct reporting to the district magistrate,” an official said.
