NASA has confirmed and scheduled two upcoming spacewalks (EVAs 94 and 95) for ongoing maintenance and power upgrades to the International Space Station (ISS). A press release issued recently by NASA acknowledged that these missions represent a critical step towards improving the ISS capability as it nears the end of its operational life. Astronauts engaged in these spacewalks will install the remaining hardware required to complete installation of the iROSA, as well as replace ageing camera equipment to ensure good orbital characterisation. Astronauts will also be adding new navigational aids to be used by future crew members, evaluating docking opportunities and ensuring that the ISS continues to be an advanced scientific laboratory. Through these two EVAs, NASA furthers its goal of sustainability for the ISS as it prepares for the next phase of Human Exploration beyond low Earth orbit.
How and when to watch NASA spacewalks 94 and 95
NASA will showcase full live coverage of both spacewalks 94 and 95, providing the chance to follow the astronauts’ progress in real time via global viewership. The broadcasts will be presented with live expert commentary and use several camera views, including the astronauts’ helmets. Both of the two spacewalks should take around 6.5 hours each to complete. The following is the timeline for both:

Meet the astronauts for spacewalk 94
An important part of the mission will be having the right people going out into space. For NASA’s U.S. Spacewalk 94 (originally planned for October 2020; now rescheduled to take place on March 18, 2026), two crew members will represent: Jessica Meir, who has conducted three previous spacewalks and was one of two astronauts on the 2019 all-female spacewalk, and Chris Williams, who is performing his first spacewalk. Jess Meir will wear a spacesuit with red stripes as crew member ‘one’, and Chris Williams will wear a plain white spacesuit as crew member ‘two’. While Jess and Chris are in space, crew members on board the ISS will provide them with necessary support, including crew members like Anne McClain or Kimiya Yui of JAXA, performing the important duties of ‘suit up’ and providing robotic arms to support their crew members in staying pressurised and connected by a long cable.While Spacewalk 94 has a confirmed crew, NASA typically keeps the specific pairings for the follow-up mission, like Spacewalk 95. They will do this to evaluate how well the previous spacewalk was conducted in terms of physical fatigue and mission success of the previous crew. Therefore, expect to hear who the second pair of astronauts will be on March 16 at the next NASA news conference.
