New details about New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and journalist Dianna Russini aren’t slowing down. TMZ reported that Russini was visibly pregnant during a private boat rental she shared with Vrabel at a Tennessee lake in June 2021, the same period she covered the Tennessee Titans, the team Vrabel was then coaching. A video of the two at the marina surfaced the following day, adding fuel to a story that shows no signs of cooling.

The newest reporting sparked another discussion on NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk, where Mike Florio suggested the story may still be far from over. Florio pointed to how quickly new material surfaced this week and argued that the unpredictable nature of the situation is exactly what makes it difficult for anyone involved to get ahead of it.“In a story where we’ve had no way of expecting whatever is coming next… You have photos of the two of them at a marina at some lake in Tennessee from June 2021, and then the next day, a video of an extremely pregnant Dianna Russini walking down the dock with Mike Vrabel,” Florio said. “Who would’ve expected that? And that just proves the point: expect the unexpected.”Florio also focused on the growing media frenzy around the situation. According to him, the continued leaks are being fueled by people actively searching through old material, hoping to uncover more evidence connected to the pair.“People are out there digging through anything they can find,” Florio added. “People are looking through their phones… There’s a financial incentive for TMZ in the New York Post to get anything they can. And the point is, we never know what is going to be that one thing that just makes this untenable.”So far, the fallout has looked very different for both sides. Russini resigned from The Athletic in April, yet fresh leaks and speculation continue to follow her. Vrabel, meanwhile, has largely avoided major professional consequences.
