He is a historic winning captain and is regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time, having scored over 27,000 international runs across formats. Though he retired in 2012, Ponting is the head coach of the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has signed a four-year contract starting with the 2025 season.
