The NFL recently revealed its broadcast lineup, unmasking a massive scheduling double standard: five teams, namely the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and Las Vegas Raiders received zero primetime slots while the Dallas Cowboys secured a shocking six.Anyhow, television popularity does not necessarily translate to betting preference and confidence. According to data tracked on the Polymarket’s NFL Champion 2027 page, the Dallas Cowboys currently hold a meager 3 percent chance to win Super Bowl LXI.Renowned sports columnist Jason Whitlock clearly sides with the doubters. Whitlock highlighted the team’s bleak expectations by reposting a viral prediction from NFL Memes on X, which featured an image of Dak Prescott captioned: “Dallas Cowboys eliminated from NFL Playoffs.”

Dallas Cowboys have six primetime games but Jason Whitlock has Dak Prescott eliminated from 2026 NFL playoffs

More primetime slots usually mean a larger audience. More audience equals high-stakes matchups. High-stakes matchups equal more pressure. More pressure leads to a greater tendency to make mistakes due to intense crowd scrutiny. But this is not why the Dallas Cowboys have been failing for far too long, have they?2026 would be their fourth straight season to have at least six primetime slots. And for the past four seasons, the records have been: 12-5 in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and 7-10 in 2025. They lost in the divisional round and in two wild card rounds. And last year, they missed the playoffs. No wonder Jason Whitlock has them slated to miss the 2026 NFL playoffs again. But this is not all. He has been after Dak Prescott for far too long now. As Whitlock said back in Sept. 2022, “Greed and ego, that is what undermined Dak Prescott. His greed and ego, and his agent’s greed and ego. This is not 20/20 hindsight, I said it the entire time: Don’t pay Dak [Prescott]. Don’t give him too much money. Once those expectations elevate, it’s going to elevate for his teammates, it’s going to elevate for the fan base. His reasoning was clear: “And next thing you know, he’s going to be sitting on a bunch of money and be miserable. And be in the frying pan.”Whitlock continued, “And there are some of you out there that ‘Well, at least he’s got the money. You always get the money. It don’t matter. Them Dallas fans, the people in Texas, Texas is one of the most racist states in the country. If they had such as a…Cam Newton should be their quarterback.’ None of that is going to fix the hell Dak is about to experience now that all the burden is on him and he can’t meet those expectations. Dak Prescott is a nice guy and a great guy, but he’s just getting paid too much money for his limited amount of talent.”

Dak Prescott massive contracts and playoff losses with Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys in March 2021. In 2022, the Cowboys recorded 12-5 but lost in the divisional round. In 2023, they recorded 12-5 but lost in the wild card round. In September 2024, Prescott signed a four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Cowboys. Then, in 2024, the Cowboys went 12-5 but lost in the wild card round. That is three NFL playoff eliminations since those massive contract signings. In 2025, they finished 7-10 and failed to make the playoffs. Is Jason Whitlock’s prediction for Dak Prescott coming true? This year, Prescott’s $40 million base salary was converted into a signing bonus. It created $30 million in relief for 2026. But these salary cap adjustments won’t make up for a 30-year drought, right? The Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl in over 30 years! The fans are hungry. But looking at the recent NFL Memes post, Prescott is already predicted to be eliminated from the 2026 playoffs… and the fanbase is probably losing hope. The quarterback must feel the weight of an entire franchise. Will Dallas break free from its misery, or endure yet more suffering? Only time will reveal the answer…
