NEW DELHI: Spring in Delhi transforms the ‘concrete jungle’ into a vibrant, blooming landscape with the city getting covered in shades of red, green, purple and yellow. Flaming red semal (cotton silk) trees and bougainvillea spill over several walls. These also splash hues of different colours with modern buildings in the backdrop. Street art and murals add artistic colour. Many dividers turn into yellow islands due to Tecoma stans, commonly known as yellow bells or trumpetbush. It is a fast growing evergreen shrub frequently seen in the city’sparks, gardens and roadsides.
