Two minor girls rescued from trafficking racket in West Champaran
West Champaran police successfully rescued two minor girls from an alleged trafficking ring in Chautarwa, arresting two individuals. The accused reportedly lured the children with financial promises to work in an orchestra. Authorities are actively pursuing ‘Naya Savera’ to dismantle such networks, ensuring strict action against exploiters. Further investigations are ongoing.

Bettiah: Police in West Champaran rescued two minor girls from an alleged trafficking racket and arrested two persons during a raid in Chautarwa area on Saturday.The arrested accused have been identified as Pawan Kumar from Englishia village in Chautarwa and Anjali Kumari from Surgapatti in Madhubani district.Bagaha in charge SP, Kumari Nirmala, said acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and Chautarwa police conducted a raid in Englishia village and rescued the girls.According to police, the accused lured the minors with promises of money and brought them to work in the orchestra. During questioning, the girls said they were misled with financial promises. Both the girls were handed over to their families.A case (No. 139/26) has been registered at Chautarwa police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Juvenile Justice Act, and Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.Nirmala further said, “We are carrying out sustained operations under the ‘Naya Savera’ campaign to dismantle trafficking networks. Strict legal action will be taken against those exploiting minors.”Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the racket.
