Veteran star Annu Kapoor, best known for his roles in ‘Main Azaad Hoon’, ‘Mandi’, and ‘Jolly LLB 2’, is quite picky when it comes to the projects he wishes to select. In one of his latest interviews, the star revealed candid details about his life as an actor, and how his stardom and demand has never affected the kinds of films he chooses or rejects to work in.

Annu Kapoor talks about only saying yes to films that he wants to work in

Annu Kapoor recently completed 44 years in the entertainment industry, and is now preparing for the release of his next project, ‘Uttar Da Puttar’, which is all set for release on July 24.While talking to The Deccan Chronicle, the artist shared some insight into his life as an actor and opened up about his mindset when it comes to saying yes or no to projects. “For me, the strength of the story and the strength of my character are what matter most. If both are meaningful, I don’t mind earning much less than my usual remuneration. Character actors survive because of good writing and memorable roles,” he shared further.The actor also shared that the cast of the film, or the people attached to it have never influenced his decision. “I have never chosen films based on the size of the star cast. Whether the lead actor is a superstar or a newcomer makes no difference to me. I only look at the quality of the work. I simply do my work honestly. My greatest strengths are my skills, talent and potential. My effort is always to become the character completely. That is all an actor can do,” he explained.

The actor also gave a little insight into the kind of character he is playing in his upcoming project ‘Uttar Da Puttar’. He shared, “The film is about a man, his circumstances and the people he encounters. My character is a respected professor of Physics, but at the same time he is extremely superstitious. His beliefs create several complications in his personal life, and the story follows how he deals with those conflicts.He also shared that while his character is heavily affected by personal beliefs and superstitions, he does not believe in any of that in real life. He further shared that while he educates himself about everything, there are “extraordinary coincidences,” however, they cannot be treated as “absolute truths.”

About ‘Uttar Da Puttar’

Starring names like Annu Kapoor as Sai Ram Tuteja, Rukhsar Rehman, Brijendra Kala, Pavan Malhotra, and Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, the comedy film is set to release across theatres on July 24. The film is based on a quirky Physics teacher who suddenly becomes obsessed with vastu shastra and tries to depend on it religiously to change his luck.
