Pierre Gasly is having a strong 2026 season, and his life off the track is just as busy. The Alpine driver has started the year better than many expected and is sitting eighth in the Formula 1 drivers’ standings. At the same time, he is making big moves away from racing too. Gasly recently bought a $5 million waterfront condo in Miami and says he feels more settled than ever. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Gasly shared how excited he is to be back in Miami for the race, even after a long travel delay. He also spoke about his life with girlfriend Kika Cerqueira Gomes, his time away from racing, and even joked about not being invited to Travis Kelce’s much-talked-about wedding.

Gasly says Miami holds a special place for him. He first visited the city in 2017 and liked it right away. Now, he has taken a bigger step by buying a luxury condo at the Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences, a high-end waterfront project. He explained that the city’s energy and lifestyle made the decision easy. “It was a pretty long day, but I’m super excited for the race,” Gasly said. “The energy in Miami is always very special, so it keeps you awake.”He added, “The first time I came to Miami was in 2017… already back then I really liked it. The city has a very unique energy. I quite like the life and the lifestyle that it brings to it.” Gasly also shared that his girlfriend is happy with the move. “It’s a nice place, so she’s happy about it,” he said. “Our dog Simba will be very pleased with it as well.”While life off track looks comfortable, Gasly made it clear that racing is still his main focus. Driving for Alpine F1 Team, he is part of a team that has surprised many this season. Alpine has shown strong pace, and Gasly believes the work behind the scenes is helping. “I know the team’s been working really hard and actually bringing some good upgrades to the track,” he said. “But you never know how much the other teams are doing. The short break in the F1 calendar gave Gasly time to reset. He said he spent weeks training, doing team duties, and enjoying football. He even attended Champions League matches and visited family in France, something he rarely gets time to do during the busy season. Looking ahead to the Miami race, weather could play a big role. Rain is expected, and Gasly is not worried about it. In fact, he sees it as a chance.“I think in the rain, it always brings more unpredictability,” he explained. “I kind of like those conditions because I feel there is more to grab, more opportunities to do well.” Away from racing, Gasly is also part of a team that has drawn big names. Alpine has investors like Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Reynolds and Rory McIlroy. One of them, Travis Kelce, is set for a high-profile wedding, which has been widely talked about.Gasly laughed when asked if he would attend. “I don’t think so. I didn’t get an invite… and I think, honestly, there’s so many more people that should be there before I deserve my spot there.” He added with a smile, “No, I hope to see him at one of the races at some point! I can ask him some tips about weddings.” For now, Gasly’s focus stays clear. He wants strong results with Alpine and to keep building on his solid start to the 2026 season, while enjoying a more balanced life away from the track.
