Telugu cinema’s transition from a regional powerhouse to a global contender is being driven by its steady output of quality, content-led films, believes actor Nani. “In the last few years, I think every year from Telugu cinema we at least had five or six solid good films which I know a lot of other state media or audience have praised a lot about. That is what has been the key to increasing reach,” he states. The ambition is nowpivoting from domestic dominance to a definitive global footprint. With The Paradise slated for an expansive eight-language release — including Spanish and English — Nani highlights that the industry is increasingly fueled by international synergy. “We have international technicians working on our films, and audiences from other countries are catching up to what we are creating. They are enjoying it and celebrating it. I think we’re in a very good place.”
