Shah Rukh Khan received a warm welcome in Mangalore as he attended a special event on June 25. At the event, the Bollywood superstar got candid with fans about his life, journey in the film industry and also delighted many by sharing the story behind one of his most well-known childhood photographs.Speaking to the cheering crowd, Shah Rukh pulled out the iconic picture, which shows him as a toddler sitting in a bucket, with his hair spiked up and soap on his cheek. Opening up about the story behind the cute picture, he shared, “As inappropriate as it may seem just now, because my poor boy is without clothes. This is the only picture I have from my childhood, which is in Mangalore, without clothes in a bucket.”

The actor, who made his big-screen debut in director Raj Kanwar’s 1992 romantic drama ‘Deewana’, was also seen taking over the stage and performing some epic dance numbers for his adoring fans. Videos and photographs from the event went viral on social media, with fans swooning over the actor and his heartwarming interaction.One such clip saw Shah Rukh greeting fans in Kannada before thanking them for the enthusiastic reception. “Thank you, Mangalore! First of all, when I was coming here, I didn’t know what to expect. But the warmth, love, goodness and excitement, right from the airport to the drive down here, amidst all you people, felt great.”

Although Shah Rukh was born in New Delhi in 1965, he spent his early childhood in Mangalore. The actor and his family reportedly resided there until he was around five years old.SRK’s visit comes amid his ‘King’ shoot. The actor will be seen in an all-new avatar, for the action-thriller, that will see him sharing the screen with daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. The film will also see him teaming up with an ensemble cast of Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and many more.The movie that is said to be in the final leg of shoots and post-production, will hit the big screen on December 24.
